Jones & Frank is equipped to upgrade your current point-of-sale system to be EMV friendly, or install a new system with EMV capabilities. Europay, MasterCard and Visa (EMV) cards are known as “smart cards” or the cards with “the chip” in them. Transactions with EMV provide the safest digital purchasing experience possible.
Our trusted supplier Gilbarco provides retail petroleum owner and operators with the ability to upgrade their sites to support EMV across a variety of Gilbarco and competitive dispenser types.
Product Uses or Details
EMV cards use a computer chip that’s located on the front of the card to send data from the card to the card reader. This chip calculates a unique data packet for each transaction that reduces the amount of data stolen during card fraud or theft.
This cross platform upgrade path provides a simpler path for retailers planning their EMV migrations through POS-to-CRIND® protocol development and EMV certifications.
- Your customers will be more at ease knowing their identity is safer than before.
- All major credit card brands will be instituting a Fraud Liability Shift. The shift means that fraud liability has shifted to C-store owners for POS transactions in October 2015 and will shift for fuel dispensers in October 2017.
- Fraudulent payments can tarnish your brand’s reputation, even if it’s not your fault.
